Dave Roberts explains why Shohei Ohtani is not in the Dodgers lineup as DH tonight.
Roberts said the decision was made to give Ohtani the best chance to stay loose and feel good on the mound, especially after being hit in the shoulder area earlier in the week.
By removing hitting responsibilities, the focus shifts entirely to pitching, helping manage soreness and avoid unnecessary strain before and during the game.
Roberts added that Ohtani is feeling better and expects him to return to hitting in his next outing.
