20 year old Shohei Ohtani ties the record (with Marc Kroon) for the Nippon Professional Baseball League’s fastest pitch ever recorded, during game 2 of the All-Star Series (7/19/14). This broke Yoshinori Sato’s previous record of 161 km/h for the fastest pitch ever thrown by a Japanese native.
